Louise Lyons – One Snowy Night

One Snowy Night - Louise Lyons

Reviewer: Lucy

Genre: MM Contemporary

Review: In this short story, Keith is a semi-famous musician who is saved by a “knight in a white van” after a breakdown on a snowy highway, in completely weather-inappropriate clothes after a disaster of a date. Mike, the white van man, finds Keith in his car with no coat and on the verge of freezing. Mike is big, gruff, bearded and a genuinely nice person.

I admit I had to look up the term “white van man” because I didn’t know why Keith would assume Mike would be homophobic, so I particularly loved the stereotype breaking. And that Keith readily admitted it.

This story had a lot of sex for the length but it was sweet nonetheless. Especially loved when Mike sets Keith up on the couch and then, “I’ll tuck you in.” Lovely.
