Review: I have to admit – I was thoroughly prepared to toss this short story away as PWP and be done. And is there porn in it? You bet. A lot of sex, particularly for the length? You bet. But was I shocked at the plot behind it? You bet. My biggest quibble was…MORE. I want more. I want to know what happened to Peter, what Alex does now, what happens to them, does Alex continue his porn career, and on and on.
This doesn’t even really end with a HFN and definitely not HEA; it’s more like realizing there is a way to be happy. Some readers may not like the fact that the biggest sex scene is not with his potential partner, but it needs to be remembered- this is Alex’s foray into gay-for-pay. So what we are getting is his first gay porn scene, which happens to be his first gay sex.
The story is definitely short and leaves more questions than it answers but it worked, somehow. I found it well-written and I could connect to Alex – his shock and awe over what he is experiencing is priceless, particularly when contrasted with the very literal, blaise world of making porn. Peter is more of an enigma, a little bit lost and I wanted to know about that. Perhaps the mark of the story is – I wanted MORE!
